Saturday Matinee @ the Library

Stop by the library this Saturday @ 2:30pm for an afternoon showing of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2!  No registration is required for this free event, just drop-in.  Held in the lower level program room.  Rated PG - ages 6+.

Inventor Flint Lockwood thought he saved the world when he destroyed his machine that turned water into food causing cheeseburger rain and spaghetti tornadoes. But Flint soon learns that his invention survived and is now creating food-animals. Flint and his friends embark on a dangerously delicious mission to battle hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, hippotatomuses, cheespiders and other foodimals to save the world again!

Robots!

Beat the heat with a Saturday afternoon movie at the library!  See Robots, rated PG, this Saturday, July 12th at 2:30pm in the lower level program room.  No registration is required - just drop-in!  Ages 6+.

Robots is the story of Rodney Copperbottom, a small-town robot with big dreams and a big talent for inventing. Inspired by Bigweld, the greatest robot inventor in the world, Rodney sets off to Robot City ready to make his mark. But once he arrives, Bigweld is nowhere to be found and nothing is quite how he imagined. Along with the help of some quirky mechanical friends, Rodney must find out what he’s really made of and tweak his dreams into a working reality.

Tween Activity: Summer Movie

Beat the summer heat with a movie @ the library!  Another of the Tween Friday activities this summer will be a movie chosen by you.  Tweens, ages 9 - 12, who are registered for the Children's Summer Reading Program, "Dig Into Reading," are asked to vote for which movie they would like to see on Friday, August 2nd @ 10:30am in the lower level program room.  Vote for one of 4 popular movies (find out all about them on our website):

National Treasure (2004) - Rated PG

Gnomeo and Juliet (2011) - Rated G

Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) - Rated PG

The Borrowers (1998) - Rated PG

Voting begins on Monday, June 24th and continues until 5:00pm on Thursday, August 1st.  Vote in a poll on our website or at the Tween Kiosk (in front of the Children's Desk).  The movie with the most votes will be the one we watch!

Last Chance to Vote!

Today is the last day to vote for the Tween Summer Movie.  Vote at the children's desk or online by 8:00pm tonight.  Come to the library for our Tween Friday Program tomorrow morning (early this week - 10:30am!) and see if your favorite movie is the winner!

The winning movie will be shown in the lower level program room.  Ages 9 - 12.

Tween Summer Movie - VOTE today!

The Tween summer movie is quickly approaching - July 27th at 10:30am.  And as of last Friday there is a two-way tie for first place!  We've received a lot of votes so far both at the Children's Desk and online and voting remains open until Thursday, July 26th.  The choices are:
  • How to Train Your Dragon
  • The Adventures of TinTin
  • Bedtime Stories
  • Legend of the Guardians: The Owl's of Ga'hoole
VOTE today and make sure we show your favorite on the 27th! 

All movies are rated PG and are intended for Tweens, ages 9 - 12.

Tween Summer Blockbuster - VOTE NOW!

Voting is open for the Tween Summer Blockbuster that we'll be showing on Friday, July 27th @ 10:30am in the lower level program room.  You select the movie we should see!  Choose between:
  • How to Train Your Dragon
  • The Adventures of Tintin
  • Bedtime Stories
  • Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole

All movies are rated PG and are intended for Tweens (ages 9 - 12) participating in the Tween Summer Reading Program, Be a Star - READ! only.
