Award Season

It is officially awards season and while we breathlessly wait for the ALA Youth Media Awards to be announced on January 28th (including the Newbery and Caldecott winners!) there are other prestigious awards to take note of as well. 

As I mentioned last week, the 2013 Edgar Award nominees have been released and also last week the winner of the 2013 Scott O'Dell Award for Historical Fiction was announced.  The winner of this wonderful award named in honor of legendary author Scott O'Dell (Island of the Blue Dolphins) is:
