2014 Latino Book Month

LATINO BOOK MONTH!
May is Latino Book Month!  This year the Children's Department at the Newport Public Library is partnering with the Pawtucket Public Library and Rhode Island Latino Arts to encourage kids to read books by and for Latinos.

Read at least 3 books on the list below and vote for your favorite at the Newport Public Library by May 28th.  The winning title will be announced on May 31st at the Pawtucket Public Library.

The books on the reading list represent reading choices for children in grades Pre-K - 12.  Books on the list below that are appropriate for grades Pre-K - 6 are available in the Children's Department in a special display for Latino Book Month.  Older books are available in the Young Adult Department or by request.  The children's display is located adjacent to the Rhode Island Children's Book Award nominee display.  Stop by the desk if you have any questions!
